WWII Inspired Roush P-51A Mustang
Tuesday, October 30th, 2007
When it comes to the Mustang it can only get better. It’s one of those cars that when it first came out it became an instant classic.
The new Roush P-51A Mustang was inspired by the WWIIP-51 Mustang airplanes. These bad boys were used to take down the German armies and history says that the Germans saw their downfall when these flew overhead.
Jack Roush’s latest street Mustang borrows hopes to establish similar dominance on the ground against the “invasion of foreign brands.” This is the most powerful road car (in terms of HP) the company has produced so far. ROUSH charged 4.6L V8 producing at least 510 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, the P-51A should be more than able to keep pace with its competition.
These parts are vital for the engine (300 hp factory spec) to be able to cope with the newest Roushcharger. Additionally new aluminium upper and lower intake manifold, custom fuel rail and high-flow fuel injectors, a high-flow capacity fuel system and a dual electronic throttle body were installed.
The exterior has been fitted with a new aerodynamic package with a new front fascia, chin spoiler, hood scoop, rear spoiler and black high-flow grille. 18 inch forged five spoke wheels are mounted under the car and a Stage 3 suspension kit is fitted. The interior received leather seats, white gauges and the customary emblems.
Roush is looking to start producing them early next year and because it is such a unique car they will only be making 100 of them. Along with the car Roush will be offering an aero body kit, upgraded wheels and tires, and a brake upgrade.
