Volkswagen To Build Plant In Chattanooga, Tennessee

Volkswagen released a statement today revealing their plans to build a manufacturing plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. At this plant they will build a car that will be exclusive to the North American market.
The plant will hire 2,000 workers that are from the tri-state area. Volkswagen stated that they would be investing close to $1 billion in the local economy to make it work.
The plant is an integral part of Volkswagen’s plan for expansion in the N.A. market, with sales expected to crest 800,000 units by 2018. The 1,350-acre site will produce 150,000 vehicles annually.
