And i think people look on the hp and mpg of car nowadays.Primarily consideration as of the economy standing back again from the past economic crisis.Customers are getting more practical in choosing what to buy.But then,nice features.

Fuel efficiency and power are not mutually exclusive concepts. In terms of engines… Both are based upon “volumetric efficiency” … You failed to mention the new V-6 Mustang gets 30 MPG and has 100 more Horsepower than the 2010 version.

Same goes for the new 5 liter V-8 … both Horsepower AND fuel economy have increased for 2011. These days, even Ferrari is starting to come up with some reasonable fuel economy numbers.

Like I said… using technology to improve volumetric efficiency achieves both goals. Another big improvement is 6 speed transmissions… which … with proper rear end gearing… can give you lots low speed power… AND … decent fuel economy on the Highway.

Truth be told… there wasn’t a muscle car made in the 60s or 70s that I would rather actually DRIVE today than a 2011 Mustang Shelby… or even the Mustang GT.

Getting all caught up in Legend and Nostalgia can’t make up for the technology gains of 40+ years.

Not to mention… throw in SAFETY … and those old cars can’t hold a candle to the current crop of muscle cars.

We really do have a great selection of muscle cars available right now. My big worry is the government will probably find a way to kill them off in the next few years.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I never thought I would hear Muscle cars and fuel efficiency in the same sentence but then the World is changing and car manufacturers have to respond to the demands of the consumers.
