Stop Thieves With…Rust?
Thursday, September 20th, 2007
None of can deny the fact that when we have a car we don’t want anything to happen to it (unless of course you can get a better one in the process). Unfortunately it seems that everywhere cars are being stolen. What is one thing that most of these cars have in common? They are all nice. Leather seats, great paint job, and even the occasional up to date gadget in it. So what do you do to prevent your precious car from being stolen?
It seems that Dominic Wilcox came up with an idea. He designed rust stickers that you put on your car to give it a rustic and older look to it. He says that it isn’t a sure fire way to keep those pesky theives away, but so far no one has touched his bike. Of course there are downsides to this. For one thing people are not going to want to make their vehicles look rusted. Especially the people who own those expensive vehicles.
Giving it that rusted look would defeat the point of buying a nice vehicle to show off to everyone. Another downside is that now theives now the master plan to thwart them and they will scratch off all those stickers! So in the end we tell you to lock your doors, hide anything valuable, and get really good insurance!
