Special Licenses For Supercars

Lamborghini Crashed Into PolePeople are starting to question whether drivers of supercars really know how to properly drive their expensive and flashy vehicles. It has been a year full of Ferrari, Lamborghini, and many other supercar accidents everywhere around the world. Between famous boxers and actors it seems that no one has any idea on what is needed to drive these powerful vehicles.

Some of the supercar manufacturers like, Lamborghini, Porsche, Audi, Ferrari, Caterham, and Lotus, are trying their best to teach their customers how to handle their vehicles. But the IAM Motoring Trust, a charity├é┬áconnected to the Institute of Advanced Motorists, said that teaching them isn’t enough, but that they should earn and obtain a special license and pass an advanced test.

Kevin Delaney, its head of road safety, said: “We have a basic form of graduated licences for motorbikes, there should be one for cars too. “The licence should be linked to the horsepower a car produces in proportion to its weight. Drivers would have to train first to make sure they could handle the extra power.”

He said the training would concentrate not only on car handling but also on the “psychological difficulties” of experiencing an adrenaline rush when driving a powerful vehicle. “If you buy a Porsche, it’s for one reason, speed. Drivers need to be trained to deal with it,” Mr Delaney said.

Other motoring groups said any extra training should remain voluntary. The RAC Foundation, where Mr Delaney used to be traffic and road safety manager, said all drivers should take training throughout their motoring lives. Sheila Rainger, a spokeswoman for the foundation, said: “This should be something motorists choose to do themselves out of pride in their skills, not a burden imposed upon them by legislation.”

With the rules and regulations that everyone has to go through it will most likely be something that we will have to endure. But I don’t have any arguments for it. After all people need to learn to respect their vehicles before they drive it. That will ensure that they do their best to not crash it!

Special license would cut the sales of supercars in half. There would be no more spoiled movie stars crashing around :)
