Rinspeed Hopes To Change Future With sQuba Concept

Rinspeed sQuba ConceptCars can be driven almost anywhere. They can be driven over rough terrain, snowy lands, and even backed-up highways. For years (many, many, years) people have dreamt about having a car that could be driven under water. Several concepts have been drawn out and designed – but so far nothing has made it. Rinspeed is hoping to change all this.

Rinspeed has revisited the idea with its new sQuba concept that’s set to be unveiled at next year’s Geneva Motor Show in March. Touted as the ‘world’s first real diving car,’ the new sQuba is designed to autonomously turn into an amphibious vehicle at the push of a button and can submerge up to 10m (33ft) under water.

The concept car is powered by an electric motor with powerful torque that drives the rear wheels. The propulsion on the water is ensured by two propellers in the stern and two powerful jet drives in the bow propel the vehicle under water while diving.

With zero emissions, zero pollution in the seven seas of this world. The light weight body with components made of futuristic Carbon Nano Tubes encloses in a streamlined manner the driver and passenger who are supplied with fresh breathing air by the self-contained on-board system.

To most of us this seems like a completely futuristic car that would only be found in the movie. Yet, Rinspeed sees advancement in the automotive industry that could possibly change the future of cars.
