Rally Fighter Wins Local Motors Design Concept Competition
Local Motors is an automaker that is based out of Massachusetts. They have selected Sangho Kim’s Rally Fighter is the winner of their Local Motors Design Concept competition that is geared at revolutionizing the industry.
The company was founded on the premise of ‘open development’ on a next-generation, limited-production car. Since Local Motors’ inception last year, car designers from all over the world have joined on the company’s website to chime in on the evolution of the most popular concept projects from sketch to producible auto.
According to Local Motors, Sangho’s design was chosen by company officials based on its community support, focus on car enthusiasts, timeliness, and community collaboration. “This design has aroused incredible feedback and collaboration from the community, ” stated Local Motors lead designer Ben Messmer in a prepared release. “By promoting discussion and collaboration early on, we are able to design cars we know people want; there is no guessing.”
For his efforts, Sangho will be awarded the grand prize of $10,000 and will play a key role in the car’s production. Details regarding when and how the Rally Fighter will be produced have yet to be disclosed, but check back for further details as soon as they become available.
