Porsche Cayenne To Receive Diesel Engine

Written by tonks on June 17, 2008

Porsche CayenneWe heard that Porsche was thinking about releasing a diesel engine for the Cayenne model and is looks as if the wait is over or at least will be in March of 2009. Many Porsche enthusiasts will not be pleased with this turn of events – but in the long run it will make things easier on the automaker.

Using a modern diesel engine will help Porsche to meet the new fuel economy regulations that were set up and could cost them less money than they would spend on a hybrid version. It seems that they might be using the diesel V6 engine from Audi – which is more than able to run an SUV. Porsche will be using a 3.2 liter version of the Audi current TDI six engine.
