Mercedes S 300 Blutec Hybrid Model

Mercedes-Benz S 300Mercedes-Benz has built yet another hybrid model, which they to show off at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The S 300 Bluetec Hybrid model is a perfect mix of the Bluetec diesel engine(hence the name)with the hybrid technology. It differs from the previous ML 450 Hybrid model, which was built with the petrol-hybrid system.

Its hybridized BLUETEC 4-cylinder motivates the big sedan with a modest 224 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. The combination is good for 43.5 mpg and CO2 emissions of 142 g/km, and importantly, the system meets US emissions standards. While it’s a show car, this package seems eminently doable, and it’s not unreasonable to believe that it’ll ultimately make it to production.

The modular technology concept from Mercedes-Benz includes optimised combustion engines and customised hybrid solutions, which are deployed individually or in combination depending on the vehicle class, application profile and customer requirements. The S 300 BLUETEC HYBRID has the potential to meet most stringent emissions standards such as EU6 or the BIN5 standard for 50 US states.
