Lotus’ ‘Project Eagle’ Has Surfaced

Lotus ‘Project Eagle’We can expect to see some great things from Lotus in the upcoming 2008 model year. They let us in on a little secret, which by now isn’t so little. In fact we spotted a few pictures floating around and we are hoping that this might be there new model that they plan to show off at the British Motor Show next year.

‘Project Eagle’ (the codename being used by Lotus) will sit between the Europa and the successor to the Esprit in the price range. A source within the Proton-owned firm stated that: “The last Esprit was a £60,000 model, so it’s reasonable to assume its replacement will be in that price bracket as well.” The car’s design will reportedly be similar to the M25 Concept that Lotus debuted in Frankfurt all the way back in 1999.

Its power is thought to come from a Toyota 3.0-litre V6. “Geneva is too early and we won’t be in Paris next year, so the British show is perfect,” said our insider. “We also believe the event will only get better the closer we get to the 2012 Olympics, because the transport infrastructure will improve.”

We were able to get this video from our good friends over at Fast Lane Daily. This video provides us with a more thorough description of what they were able to find out about the car. As for us we can’t wait till 2008 to get a more thorough understanding on how this car will run.
