We might be in a recession right now – but millionaires still have the ability to shell out as much money as it takes to get their hands on their favorite suerpcars. Lamborghini is happy to report that their profits and sales are both up and much of this increase is coming from China, Middle East, and Honk Kong (emerging markets).
Stephan Winkle Mann – CEO of Lamborghini – says that he believes that they reason for these sales is its policy of producing only a certain amount of their supercars thus making them exclusive. They are keeping demand for them high. Winkelmann also noted that costs go down as production goes up, a further boon to increased profitability.
With Lambo’s latest Gallardo LP560-4 about to hit its 114 dealerships, the second half of the year is already shaping up quite nicely. Ridiculously expensive options with high profit margins like $19,000 carbon-ceramic brakes are sure to help the bottom line too.
