Lamborghini Introduces Lightweight SV

Lamborghini SVThe engineers at Lamborghini have been working non-stop to create the new lightweight SV. Lamborghini is confident that this supercar is something that everyone will want to get their hands on.

Lamborghini chose to focus on the interior of the SV first when shedding off those extra pounds.. The inner door skins, the seat shells and the centre tunnel will all be made of carbon fiber. The current leather-lined door panel will be replaced by one piece of die-cast carbon with a pull strap for a door handle. All together this will help to save 2kg per door.

Taking away the front differential and driveshafts will help save Lamborghini more than 40kg. The electronic systems to raise and lower the spoiler, air intakes and front end will also go, and Lamborghini is almost certain to offer two carbon fiber rear wings.

The welded-tube steel chassis is a more difficult process when it comes to shaving the weight down. It is probably the heaviest part of the vehicle. You can expect to see brand new alloy rims that were created especially for the SV and will save about 6kg per corner. All together the SV will save almost 130kg in weight.

Just because the SV will be lighter than normal and without some of the features that we are used to doesn’t mean that it won’t come with powerful engine. It will be built with a 6.5 litre V12. As much as 680bhp is possible – along with 516lb ft of torque.
