KTM has been producing motorcycles since 1934 – but when it comes to making cars they are brand new to the industry. However, that doesn’t stop them from producing cars that will appeal to many different consumers.
They stated today that they will be bringing the X-Bow track car over into the United States and will be making it street legal. Many of us were disappointed when they stated earlier that they would only be selling it in Europe and Asia. We are happy to see they changed their minds.
The announcement was made by KTM sales and marketing chief Hubert Trunkenpolz at the recent annual gathering of KTM bike dealers from across North America in Salt Lake City, Utah. Apparently the company has received some 600+ requests from American KTM dealers for the X-Bow to make the transatlantic trip.
Trunkenpolz noted that they will need cooperation from Volkswagen/Audi, who supplies the running gear, and from local authorities, but that the company “will do whatever is possible to bring the car to the U.S. – that, I promise.”
