Emerson Fittipaldi Rides Again

Emerson FittipaldiEmerson Fittipaldi, former two-time Formula 1 champion and Indy 500 winner, was a legend in his time and still is too many people. He is proving that at the age of 60 he still has what it takes by coming out of retirement and testing the new Ferrari powered A1GP World Cup of Motorsport race car.

Fittipaldi was excited about the advancement of the new Ferrari racer and couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel. Fittipaldi never drove a Ferrari during his Formula 1 career. This exciting new came after last week’s historic announcement that the Italian sports car manufacturer will be supplying all engines to A1GP from next season.

“When I was told about the possibility of Ferrari coming on board I thought it was brilliant,” Fittipaldi said. “The Ferrari name alone is incredible and people are going to give A1GP more respect and we are going to be much bigger. When Ferrari’s people visited us in Zandvoort they loved our A1GP weekend and they are very enthusiastic to get involved with A1GP.”

Fittipaldi is hoping that this new advancement of bringing in the Ferrari to the A1GP will attract more people to watch and be more interested in the racing series. Pulling himself from retirement will be another great way to attract the older crowd who fell away as well as the newer one.
