Written by mdvaldosta on December 13, 2008
It’s been in the works for over 30 years, finally the infamous 6-wheeled supercar by Covini Engineering is heading towards production! It seems that Ferruccio Covini’s C6W has finally made peace with the engineering and cost problems plaguing his prototypes built over the years, and this unique supercar’s future certainly looks bright.
After nearly a decade of serious testing, it’s been said that this rear wheel drived exotic will be powered by a 4.2 liter Audi engine boasting 433 horsepower and and 346 lbs of torque through a 6-speed manual transmission. This is enough power for an expected top speed of over 185 MPH. Take a look at this beast at the test track:
So why six wheels? Well, according to Covini the C6W will have better grip, better braking, better comfort, better absorbtion of a frontal impact, better chance of stability during hydroplaning. In summary, we’ll just say it’s “more better.”
