Steve Saleen’s Ford GT Up For Grabs On eBay
August 26th, 2008
Saleen was responsible for putting together and assembling the Ford GT in its facility located in Troy, Michigan. Steve Saleen must have took pride in the work that he and his company had done or perhaps he just really enjoyed the type of car that it was - but he ended up owning one himself.
Only nine of these pre-production sports cars were built making them a true and rare treasure. So when we found one on eBay we jumped at the chance to check it out. There are a few things that set it apart from the production version. The 4.6 liter Mustang Cobra V8 engine was one of the big differences along with a very unique supercharger system that was made special for the car.
KTM X-Bow Will Be Coming To The United States
August 25th, 2008
KTM has been producing motorcycles since 1934 - but when it comes to making cars they are brand new to the industry. However, that doesn’t stop them from producing cars that will appeal to many different consumers.
They stated today that they will be bringing the X-Bow track car over into the United States and will be making it street legal. Many of us were disappointed when they stated earlier that they would only be selling it in Europe and Asia. We are happy to see they changed their minds.
Bentley Voted No To Future Diesel Models
August 25th, 2008
Bentley stated this week that there is a high chance they will not be producing any diesel models in the near future. This decision comes despite the fact that many of their toughest competitors will be doing just this.
Bentley has actually been conducting surveys among many of their customers and buyers and have asked them whether or not they would consider buying one of these models. The majority of them told Bentley that they were not interested in the prospect of owning a diesel model.
Blue Fusion’s Rossi 66
August 21st, 2008
It is not uncommon for certain automakers to take a modern chassis of a Corvette, the fiberglass bodywork, and jettisons, and add a brand new shell that looks very similar to that of an older Corvette. One of the most famous of these was the ‘62’ ‘Vert from Classic Reflection Coachworks that had C5 underpinnings.
Now a company by the name of Blue Fusion has tackled the iconic split window. One problem: their press release continually refers to the 1966 split window, which doesn’t exist as the only year the two-piece rear glass was produced was ‘63. The resultant Rossi 66 cribs the workings of a modern C6 Corvette and adds a unique Sting Ray look.
Lamborghini To Enter The Race
August 21st, 2008
Lamborghini and Ferrari make similar supercars. At least to us they seem similar. They are both full of luxury and have the power that can send us to our destination in half the time if we could naturally go that fast.
However, there are certain differences. Lamborghini has never had the racing credentials and reputation that Ferrari has worked so hard to gain. This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance highlighted Lamborghini as a featured marque, and the guys over at Garage419 had a chance to talk with Stefan Winkelmann.
