2002 360 Modena F1
June 20th, 2007
The Ferrari 360 Modena F1 is truly a fun vehicle for people to drive around with no worries. It is not a vehicle that will be much used for tranportation. Of course when one pays $155,000 for a sports car they treat it well…like a sports car.
Still, the 2002 Ferrari 360 Modena F1 is as close to a real car, a traditional car, a usable car, as the storied Italian car maker has ever produced. For the first time, Ferrari has addressed such things as interior space, basic ergonomics and overall comfort, not to mention our test car’s automatic transmission, which makes this the first of the brand’s mid-engined supercars that can truly be driven everyday.
2005 Hennessey Viper Venom
May 21st, 2007It has been proven that John Hennessey’s Vipers are the fastest tuned cars in America. Hennessey took the grand prize last November with a specially prepared, twin-turbo version of Dodge’s Viper that won both the 0-150-0 and road course tests against the best that Kleemann, ReNNtech and Lingenfelter had to offer.
Following the success of the Car and Driver’s test, Hennessey is offering a version of the car which won the challenge, but now with more horsepower and better performance. Called the Viper Venom 1000, Hennessey takes the base model 500bhp Viper and completely reworks the engine to produce 1000 bhp. With these figures, the Venom 1000 is one of the only road-legal cars that can now challenge the Bugatti Veyron.
Saab Aero X Concept
February 12th, 2007
The Saab Aero X concept harnesses the power of Saab’s aviation and Scandinavian roots to make a unique statement in performance car design. It began as a study to explore future design directions, its innovative features preview the development of an enhanced design language that will inspire future Saab products.
As anyone would expect from Saab, this dynamic two-seater sports coupé breaks with automotive design convention both outside and inside. First, there are no doors. That’s because the Saab Aero X adopts a cockpit canopy, just as you would see on a jet aircraft. It offers the Aero X pilot full 180 degree vision, and also facilitates entry and exit from its low-slung cabin.

The car was unvieled on January 1, 2001 and is based on the Bugatti EB110 Super Sport but has been extensively re-engineered, the only thing retained from the original Bugatti is the carbon-fiber chassis. The Edonis uses the same V12 engine as found in the Bugatti EB110 but has had its displacement increased from 3500 cc to 3760 cc.
1957 Teverbaugh
January 25th, 2007
This unique sports car was manufactured by John Teverbaugh and Robert Kirkland to go as fast as possible on the Bonneville Salt Flats. At the time, the outright record was 393.82 mph, but they had no intention of breaking that. Instead, this special was made to run in the D Modified class which John previously dominated with his 1955 record run of 156 mph in a Bangert roadster.
