Blue Fusion’s Rossi 66
August 21st, 2008
It is not uncommon for certain automakers to take a modern chassis of a Corvette, the fiberglass bodywork, and jettisons, and add a brand new shell that looks very similar to that of an older Corvette. One of the most famous of these was the ‘62’ ‘Vert from Classic Reflection Coachworks that had C5 underpinnings.
Now a company by the name of Blue Fusion has tackled the iconic split window. One problem: their press release continually refers to the 1966 split window, which doesn’t exist as the only year the two-piece rear glass was produced was ‘63. The resultant Rossi 66 cribs the workings of a modern C6 Corvette and adds a unique Sting Ray look.
Lamborghini To Enter The Race
August 21st, 2008
Lamborghini and Ferrari make similar supercars. At least to us they seem similar. They are both full of luxury and have the power that can send us to our destination in half the time if we could naturally go that fast.
However, there are certain differences. Lamborghini has never had the racing credentials and reputation that Ferrari has worked so hard to gain. This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance highlighted Lamborghini as a featured marque, and the guys over at Garage419 had a chance to talk with Stefan Winkelmann.
Trident Iceni
August 21st, 2008
Many people feel that the new Iceni sportscar from Trident is too good to be true. Trident stated that the new grand tourer can top 200mph with a 550bhp turbo enhanced that allows it to rev from 0- 60mph in four seconds.
They went on to say that it can return close to 100mpg for 2000 mile range on a full tank of gas. Of course we saved the best for last. The fuel that it runs on is biodiesel.
Koenigsegg Working On 700HP Concept
August 21st, 2008For those of you who think that the Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera are not fast enough cars for you then you will love the new supercar that Koenigsegg has plans for and will be showing off at the Geneva Motor Show. The supercar is supposed to be all carbon fiber, four door and 700 horsepower.
The car is planned to hit the showroom in 2010, and has been under development for two years. Koenigsegg’s Dubai manager said the car “will weigh less than any other performance saloon on sale, and will have a top speed of 350 KPH.” Cause nothing says “I’m fast” like a 217 MPH afternoon with the family.
Spoon Sports To Transform NSX Into U.S. Spec NSX-R
August 21st, 2008
Spoon Sports is a motorsport partner with Honda and has been for quite some time. They will be producing a U.S. specifications NSX and transforming it into the NSX-R’s. The new modifications include larger anti-roll bars, stiffer shocks and springs, forged 17” alloy wheels, slotted brake rotors, shorter final-drive gear ratio, and a rear diffuser.
Part of the NSX-R’s appeal was a product of Honda’s desire to keep weight in check, so in order to get as close to the JDM version’s 2,800-pound curb weight, Spoon will replace the hood, rear spoiler and seats with carbon fiber pieces, fit a smaller battery, manually-adjustable mirrors, thinner rear window glass, lightweight carpets and will rip out all of the sound deadening material.
