Lotus And Spyker Officially Partner Up
May 30th, 2008
For over four years Lotus and Spyker have been working on quite a few projects and many of us have been waiting for the day when they would finally partner up. That day has come and they announced that they would be partnering up this week. This new partnership will help to solidify the technical and design sections of the two automakers.
As its name would imply, the “Parts and Platform Commonality Agreement” involves Lotus supplying both elements to Spyker, helping to build the Dutch supercar producer’s new C8 Aileron and possible the D12 Peking-to-Paris SSUV. According to AutoCar, that could mean that future Spyker’s could be based of the Lotus Esprit and that Lotus will increase its stake in the development of Spyker’s cars.

Spyker C12 Put On Hold
July 26th, 2007
Ever since we first saw it at the Geneva Auto Show in March we have been craving to take out for a test drive and find for ourselves exactly what makes the Spyker C12 Zagato powerful and appealing. Unfortunately we are going to have to wait a little longer. Automakers have put the production of the brand new Spyker on hold.
Only 24 of these amazing supercars will be made for people who have already paid the steep price to reserve themselves one. Why have they put it on hold? Apparently at this time Spyker doesn’t have the production capacity to build the ones that they need. Right now, the company has enough to deal with getting its backlog of current and coming models made, at the same time working to shore up its finances.

2009 Spyker C12
March 19th, 2007
Spyker vehicles, in a unique collaboration with Italian coachbuilder Zagato, has built the limited-edition C12 Zagato. Based on the C12 Spyder, the new model will be produced in only a limited run of only 24 units and will be priced from around $650,000, with the first deliveries to begin in March 2008.
Both Spyker and Zagato have roots in the aircraft business. In addition, Spyker recently acquired the Midland Formula 1 team and wanted to incorporate design elements from its new F8-VII formula racing car into the road car. The C12 Zagato then was fashioned under the direction of Norihiko Harada, Zagato’s chief designer. Among the F1 design details are the nose, air scoop, mirrors, fuel flap and diffuser. Zagato also has fitted a panoramic roof with its signature “double bubble.”
