Shelby Offers Aluminum Body Daytona Coupe
August 7th, 2008
There are only a limited number of the Shelby Daytona Coupe - which leads us to believe that the price for one of them is through the roof. Superperformance and Peter Brock were the original designer for the Coupe and a few years ago they created a replica for those of us who couldn’t afford the real thing.
Now, Shelby Distribution has announced it will offer an aluminum-bodied version of that same coupe. Like the Shelby CSX4000 and Commemorative GT40 continuation vehicles, the Daytona Coupe will be listed in the Shelby Registry. The Daytona Coupe also features an updated suspension system that will be shared with the upcoming MkII version of the Superformance Coupe.

July 22nd, 2008
Shelby Supercars is making plans to produce an electric version of the SSC Ultimate Aero TT. The SSC Ultimate Aero TT has been claimed by Shelby to be the world’s fastest car. If everything goes according to plan the new SSC Ultimate Aero EV to be completed late in 2009.
It will be equipped with a 500 horsepower electric motor and revolutionary batteries that will have the ability to hold a charge for many years. Additionally, the vehicle will use a 6-speed transmission and once the first model is out, they’ll be exploring ways to fit two of the motors into the engine bay, resulting in a 1000 HP model.
