Rent A Porsche Panamera

Anytime I travel I like to rent a car so that I do not put any wear and tear on my personal vehicle. It also gives the opportunity to try something new. Most car rental companies are able to provide people with the newest models and if you are lucky you will get something that looks great. So far the best car I have rented was the Nissan Altima.

But many of us dream to be given the chance to drive something better for a whole day – even if we have to pay some money for it. Anyone who has seen the new Porsche Panamera has surely fallen in love with it and if they are lucky will be given the chance to drive it. The Avis rental company stationed in Germany is making a few of these models available starting in October 1st.

When you go to any of the major airports and city outlets you will have the option of renting the S or 4S versions of the Porsche. That is if there are any left! The rates start at €189 per day during the week and €567 on the weekend. The only thing that we don’t know is what the guidelines are to rent them. We can only assume that they are quite strict.

Porsche Tries To Beat Nissan’s Time… Again

Porsche and Nissan are at it once again. The two automakers have been trying for more then a year to prove to consumers that they have the fastest supercars on the market. The clear winner each time has been the Nissan GT-R – but each time Porsche has claimed that the Nissan is cheating in order to stay ahead in the time.

In the past Nissan has been more then willing to have others test the car and to show everyone that they have done nothing except equip it with a better engine and chassis to make it faster then the previous model. But Porsche remains unconvinced and is trying one more time to prove that theirs will beat them.

They recently clocked the 2010 911 GT3 on the Nurburgring track in Germany. This new model has been equipped with an aspirated 3.8 liter flat six that is able to push out 435 horsepower. It also sports a track tuned chassis that helps to add to the performance and handling of the car. During testing of the supercar they timed it an 7:40 with Walter Rohrl driving.

Naturally we are all impressed with this time and even though they were not able to beat the Corvette ZR1 (which has 638 horsepower) they were confident that they had Nissan this time. However, these hopes were dashed when they were informed that the GT-R made it in 7:27.

Being the sore and speculative losers that they are they informed Motor Trend that this news was false and they believe that the best time they could achieve is around 7:56. So who do we believe this time. It seems that this drama could carry one for another year!

Store A Pagani Zonda R In Your Living Room

The replacement for the Pagani Zonda is scheduled to arrive sometime next year. In order to commemorate this supercar Horacio Pagani has designed one more version. This newest version of the famous supercar – the Pagani Zonda R – was in development for 24 months and was built as a track only variant.

Only 10 of these lightweight supercars was produced and they each cost 1.4 million euro. The exterior of the Pagani Zonda R is built with carbon fiber with 10% of it coming from its predecessor. Underneath the hood is a six speed sequential gearbox and four aro spec fuel pumps that work to give the Mercedes AMG 6.0 liter V12 engine what it needs to run.

Pagani said that this engine allows the Zonda R to push out 750 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 52 pound-ft of torque. It can rev from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and has a top speed of 248.54 mph. A carbon fiber intake system feeds air into the engine and an “F1 style” exhaust and Inconel manifold will release hydrocarbons and keep the temperature of the engine where it should be.

Pagani has stressed to the lucky few owners that this supercar is not street legal. The very first owner of the Zonda R is scheduled to be delivered and assembled into their living room. I suppose they are taking away the temptation to drive it on the road at the highest speeds that it can offer.

Bugatti Mansory Veyron Vincero

There are dozens of supercars in the world and each of these are unique in their own way and each try to outperform the competition. In our eyes though there is only one that is superior to them all. This is the Bugatti Veyron.

All of the models of the Veyron include the two Sang Noir models, Pur Sang, Hermes, and the Grand Sport. Another addition to this is the new Vincero that was produced by Mansory. Right now we don’t have much information on this newest supercar – but we do know that it is already for sale.

As you can see from the pictures provided it is definitely a supercar that we would love to see ourselves in. A total of three models have been built making these one of the most exotic and coveted supercars on the market at this time.

The Vincero is produced with a carbon fiber engine cover and hood and brand new black wheels. The interior has been reupholstered in white and black and donned with carbon fiber trim. The exterior and interior blend seamlessly together.

We don’t know what the price for the Mansory Veyron Vincero is – but we can imagine that because there are only 3 and because it is a Veyron it is going to have a hefty price tag.

2009 1,287HP SSC Ultimate Aero

The new Ultimate Aero supercar broke the Guinness-verified top speed world record. This is an amazing feat – but if you think that it is going to sit back and relax than you’re wrong. It’s journey has just begun.

SSC has revamped this already incredible supercar and if you can believe it – they have made it even more powerful. Now it has more power, speed, and better aerodynamics than before. The 2008 model was able to push out an amazing 1,183 horsepower – but that has been increased to 1,287 thanks to a brand new one-piece billet aluminum engine block. This engine also helps to improve upon the structural integrity and the oiling capabilities.

It has also been given a new front fascia with a new center grille opening that helpt to push all of this horsepower through the air. The carbon fiber louvers also help to push 20% more air through to the radiators. These aerodynamics upgrades together with the higher power give this supercar the ability to reach a top speed of 270 mph! Is that actually possible?

Of course if you are going to enjoy more power you have to do it in luxury. The interior has also been given a makeover with new air vents, gauge cluster, door sills, and carbon fiber trim added to the dash.

The new center console now features an Azentek PC Infotainment system that works to process the supercar’s diagnostic system on board. We now hope that that SSC will work to beat out its old record, and set a new one that will have us… once again…. amazed!

Zenvo ST1 1,104HP Danish Supercar

There seems to be an influx of newer and cooler supercars entering the arena. Because of this we are having a hard time trying to keep up with them all – but we manage to do just this for your enjoyment! The newest one on our radar is a model from Zenvo Automotive a Danish automaker.

They announced their newest project this week – which is named the ST1. Sources tell us that it is equipped with a turbocharged mid-mounted and supercharged 7.0 liter V8 engine that has the ability to push out 1,104 horsepower. All of this power is pushed through a six-speed manual gearbox. We have to admit that this sounds incredible and a too god to be true.

But this is not something that has happened overnight. The company began this project in 2004 with plans to deliver the first of them in 2009. The first performance tests were finished in October. The rear wheel drive ST1 will reach 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds. At least that is what people are telling us. It can reach 120 mph in under nine seconds. With that being said it is no surprise to us that the top speed is 233 mph.

Not only does this supercar have power – but it also looks awesome. For now only 15 models are schedules to go into production. Which means that it won’t be easy to spot one on the road.

2009 Porsche 911 Carrera S Equipped With PDK

The Porsche 911 has become the most successful competition cars that has ever been produced and released in 1963. It is true that the way it is produced is very unconventional. What with its rear-engine platform – but perhaps this is what gives it the ability to achieve and hold records in almost every automotive competition.

Porsche is constantly giving it upgrades and refining it to be better and faster. It has just introduced a mid-cycle design for the 2009 year model. When looking at the exterior you can quickly spot the changes. However, the most important improvements were made when it was equipped with two engines and a brand new double-clutch transmission.

Naturally many people have already gotten behind the wheel and driven it and put it through many of their grueling tests. Many are impressed with the improvements and it looks like Porsche is ready to win itself more medals with the new Porsche 911 Carrera S with PDK.

Rooock Tunes RST 600 LM Celebrating Le Mans

Rooock Racing was one of the most dominant GT racing teams at both the ALMS and the Le Mans thanks to their Porsche GT2 race cars. Since that time they have turned their attention from racing the Porsche to tuning it. The latest tuning job was the RST 600 LM.

This particular supercar is in memory of their victory in the 1996 GT2 class 24 Hours of Le Mans. The package features a titanium exhaust system, upgraded ECU that pushes out more then 600 horsepower and 611 pound-ft of torque, and upgraded turbochargers. The numbers show that the car can hit from 0 – 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph.

They also added a fully tuned suspension, carbon fiber clutch, vented brakes, and a massive 380mm drilled. The interior of the RST 600 LM will be equipped with oil and temperature gauges, custom seats with four point harnesses, and carbon fiber trim. The exterior modifications have added a new rear diffuser, front splitter, rear spoiler, and lightweight aluminum racing wheels.

All-Electric Porsche Cayman From Ruf

The Porsche tuning firm Ruf will be working on the new Cayman to turn it into an electric supercar. Many are comparing the new supercar to the Tesla Roadster. Naturally this means that we must point out the similarities or differences between the two.

The tuning firm is supposedly going to debut with a bit less power than the Tesla Roadster drive train (from 185kW to 150kW). However, the twisting force will be increased from 375Nm to 650Nm.

Underneath the hood you will be able to find a lithium-ion battery pack that will be providing the supercar with power. We are not sure if the new Ruf supercar will be equipped with multiple gears – but this is always a possibility. The only way that they will have the ability to reach the top speed of 125 mph is with these gears.

While the Tesla Roadster and the Ruf supercar may have some similarities the two will still be distinctly different in the end. One of the big distinctions is sure to be the price tag. The Tesla Roadster was $100k – but rumors inform us that the new Ruf will be even more expensive. We should have more details on the specs and price of the car next month.

2010 Porsche 911 GT3 Spotted In Testing

The 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 was seen testing on what looks to be very curvy mountainous roads. No doubt it was showing off the brand new “evolutionary” design that the automaker has been working hard on.

Porsche has made a few adjustments on the front air dam and also to the rear lights. However, when it comes to the style designs there seems to be nothing new. Of course like with every supercar it is all about what is under the hood. What makes the beast roar!

While nothing is official yet we are expecting to see a direct fuel injection that is mated to the current GT3 model’s 3.6 liter flat-six or even a 3.8 liter flat-six that has been tuned and comes from the new 911. This could raise the horsepower close to 440.

Either engine could possibly be coupled to a seven-speed DSG gearbox, marking an evolutionary step in the right direction. We are hoping that the brand new GT3 will be officially revealed during the Frankfurt Auto Show or the Geneva Motor Show.
