Review: 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

Mercedes is one of the few supercars that I have always loved and it is hard to sway my opinion on that. They are an automaker that knows how to design a variety of cars to suit our needs, no matter what they might be. The one that many of us have our eye on right now is the 2012 C-Class. The fact that it has been ranked high among all the other upscale mid-sized cars tells us that it is something we should sit up and take notice of.

This 2012 model has already been taken for test drives and there is nothing, but positive news. Consumers will be happy to know that the new coupe model is not lacking in style, luxury, and above all else, safety. That alone might make some of us go online to try to find a Mercedes C-Class for sale.

What changes have been made to it? We have been told that is has been given a completely new powertrain and a turbocharged, 1.8 liter four turbo engine. That powerful engine is able to push out 201 horsepower that allows it to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in seven seconds. While having an engine like this can be fun to play with the consumer side of us have to know what type of gas mileage it can get both in the city and on the highway. However, that is one piece of information we are going to have to keep waiting for.

The inside of the car has luxury written all over it and what else would we expect from Mercedes? The only downside to it (and the whole car) is that it has a rather cramped back seat and a trunk that is smaller than what most of us would want. However, the panoramic moon roof might just make up for it.

Mercedes Introduces F-125 Hybrid Concept

How many times have we told ourselves that we were going to invest in a hybrid car? Whether they are a new or used car, we all know how much money this type of car could save us and what good it will do for the environment. So what keeps us from going through with it? We all know that these are not the most visually appealing cars on the market today and this is a huge drawback for those of us that love to own a luxurious looking car.

That is why I was skeptical when I heard that Mercedes was venturing out and creating a new hybrid concept. Mercedes is known for the unique a classy look that their cars have. However, it seems that after 125 years of being in business the automaker learned a few things. At the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show they displayed the F-125 Concept and to our amazement, we actually like the way it looks!

The F-125 is a large four-seater that is built with lithium sulphur batteries to cut down completely on emissions. The exterior has been made with several types of metals and composites to make the care lightweight and safer to drive. More features of the supercar include:

F-cell plug-in hybrid with a range of 1000 km
Hydrogen storage technology
Lithium-sulphur high-voltage battery that uses high energy density
Battery charging by induction
E4MATIC-all-wheel drive with four wheel electric motors and individual torque control at each wheel
Exterior lightweight hybrid construction with gull-wing doors
Uses natural touch, gesture and voice controls to make driving safer

It seems unlikely that this ‘beast’ is going to be released within the next year or two. However, it is definitely forward thinking on Mercedes to give us an insight of what type of work they have been doing and what they can accomplish.

Electric Version Of Mercedes SLS Gullwing

We are all excited to see the release of the new SLS Gullwing coupe. We want to be able to see the final components pieced together and to see how well it drives. This week we found out that there is yet another surprise that we can look forward to.

Mercedes-Benz has made plans to build an electrically powered version of the new SLS gullwing coupe. This new car will be driving all four wheels with an individual motor on each corner. Each motor will be mounted inboard of the suspension components. The energy is stored within a 48 kWh liquid cooler lithium ion battery pack that extends down the central tunnel.

The output of the electric drive system is 526 hp and 649 lb.-ft. and according to the automaker it will have enough power to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in four seconds flat. Why did they choose to make such an exotic car? According to Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-AMG they wanted to “redefine the sports car” and to make it more exciting than before.

The SLS AMG E-cell is made using a liquid cooled high voltage battery that is state of the art. It uses 324 lithium-ion polymer cells that are in a modular configuration – which makes it easy to replace if necessary. The battery is 400 volts and is charged every time you brake and drive the vehicle.

Other parts used to piece the whole thing together include, racetrack style ceramic composite brakes and carbon fiber discs. These are a great deal light than the standard cast iron brake discs used in most vehicles. The carbon fiber used without will make the weight of the car go down and help to make it faster and more responsive to the driver’s needs.

So far it looks like they might just succeed! At this time we do not have information on when the electric version will be released. Though some speculate that we might not see the final product until 2015. We also have no idea yet on how many there will be and what the price range is. We do know that the regular SLS Gullwing will cost around $200,000 -which means that the electric version could be more.

2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

AMG claims this car shares no structural elements with other Benzes, and built it just to show how sporty they can build a Mercedes. We believe it, heck – watching the video below I’m half expecting it to “Transform” into something inspired by Optimus Prime. The car looks… awe inspiring. It sounds… amazing.

A Cockpit. An Engine. Two Wings. Is This Still A Car?

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. It’s got a cockpit, gullwing doors and an engine that claims a 3.7 second 0-60 and a top speed of nearly 200 miles per hour. As the video suggests, is it still a car? With a 6.3 liter V8 engine pumping out 563 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, we’re not sure.

Mercedes Shows Off SLS AMG At Frankfurt

I love pretty much any type of supercar that is out there (almost every type). The fact that they are equipped with lots of power and are great to look at makes them appealing. But there is one manufacturer in particular that I am always ready to see new and exciting things from – Mercedes.

During the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show I was not disappointed and was happy to get a report and some high resolution shots of the brand new SLS AMG. The newest supercar from Mercedes-Benz was showed off with a brilliant red color that helped to attract the attention of people walking by.

Underneath the hood lies a 6.3 liter engine that is able to push out 571 horsepower and allows for a 47/53 weight distribution. Mercedes placed the engine further back than what is normal – but this works well with the design of the car – which appears to have an elongated front. With all that power it is able to go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds.

It also comes equipped with yellow calipers and carbon rotors and a new interior. Put everything together and the supercar has power and a great design and appearance that will make anyone jealous and eager to own one. There is talk of an electric version to come out within the next couple of years and we are eager to see it.

2010 E-Class Pictures Revealed

More images have been released on the Internet (or should we say leaked) of the final production of the up and coming 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Mercedes will be officially revealing the model during the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March.

The picture gives us a clear view of the front of the new E-Class – which seems to have been greatly influenced by the Mercedes ConceptFascination that debuted earlier this year during the Paris Motor Show. They have removed the quad, round headlamps and replaced them with brand new light fixtures. We prefer the replacements because they give the car a more modern look and a smooth design.

The strips of LED’s are set as fog lights and placed in the outermost intakes of the lower front bumper. We are beginning to think that this is going to become a trend because Porsche and Audi have used this similar design in many of their models.

We assume that the new 2010 E-Class will have more advanced safety, performance, and entertainment capabilities than its current model. We have heard that it will be able to read road signs, allow drivers to see in the dark without using lights, and monitor how tired the driver is. In the U.S. we an expect to see the V6, V8, and AMG models.

Chrome SLR McLaren In Dubai

When the McLaren-Mercedes team first showed off their unique chrome F1 cars people loved it and it gave them a great idea. What if they were to chrome their own supercars and make them look even more spectacular?

An owner of a McLaren SLR did just this. A chrome McLaren was seen outside the Mall of the Emirates – the world’s largest shopping center – in Dubai. This isn’t the first time that we have seen supercars turned into something extravagant. A few months back we spotted a gold trimmed Camry that was owned by someone in the United Arab Emirates.

It used to be that people would show off their personality through their cars by the floor mats they chose and the dice that hung from their mirrors. Now they are painting the outside of their cars and covering it in precious metals! We wonder which supercar will be the next to receive the chrome makeover.

Mercedes To Auction Off SLR McLaren Roadster

The new Challenger, Camaro, and Mustang are not the only ones that are going up for auction this year. The McLaren SLR Roadster has reached its end – but Mercedes isn’t ready to let it go. Or rather consumers are wishing that they wouldn’t.

Mercedes will be auctioning off one of the last convertible SLR’s in the U.S. Obviously this means that you need some serious money in order to participate so only the wealthy few will be involved. We can only imagine which collector will have the winning bid.

The SLR Roadster has been styled with Sienna Pearl metallic paint and Tobacco Brown leather. This means that it will be one of a kind and no one else will have one that looks like. This makes it more exotic and naturally will drive up the price and value of it.

The auction will start November 20th at 1 p.m. EST and will end at 5 p.m. The bidding will start at $529,500. Proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

If you are looking for a cool car that is made of pure pleasure and luxury that just takes your mind away from everything then you will be pleased with the new Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 S Roadster. The newest car that was revealed and shown off at the Paris Motor Show today took our breathe away.

Inside is pure luxury and is all about inviting you to sit in the comfortable leather seat and let your cares go. You can’t help but gaze out into the distance and let your mind drift to happier days. Ok so we might be over doing it a bit – but it really is something that can take your breathe away and that is when the car is off.

It delivers 478 kW/650 hp, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a maximum speed of 335 km/h. The two-seater has a fully retractable folding soft top that is able to withstand high speeds thanks to the carbon fiber material it is made out of. It is also equipped with a degree of safety and high torsional stiffness.

More power is not the only new addition to this supercar. It also features dynamic suspension tuning and improved aerodynamics. This provides drivers with the great handling and performance – which only adds to the luxury of the car and makes you automatically want to own the road and have it all to yourself.

In 2009 we will say farewell to the McLaren SLR model. It is a sad parting – but in the end something that is inevitable. With that fact in mind Mercedes has plans for a new model that will be better and more advanced than all of the previous ones put together.

The new SLR 722 S Roadster will be powered by the 5.5 liter V8 engine – which can push out 650 horsepower. The supercar can reach a top speed of 220.6 mph – which might just be the fastest open top production car that has been produced. Mercedes has also created a soft top that has the ability to more then 200 mph top speeds.

They were able to take advantage of the McLaren’s F1 experience to produce a fully carbon-fiber body that has the ability to provide the structural integrity that is needed for high speeds like this. All that needs to be done is to unlatch the semi-automatic top from the windshield header manually. Only 150 examples of the 722 S Roadster will be made available starting Jan. 1 2009.
