Exclusive Pictures Of 2010 Mercedes E-Class From Autobild

August 15th, 2008

2010 Mercedes E-ClassAutobild receives exclusive pictures of the brand new E-Class without any of the camouflage that it has been adorned with for quite some time. Naturally we were quite curious and couldn’t wait to get our hands on all the information that they were given.

The new front fascia is an interesting amalgamation of the C- and S-class’ front ends, with an upright grille framed by two-piece headlamps, a sculpted front bumper and LED indicators. The sides of the new E incorporate a C-class-inspired swage line, while the rear taillights wrap half-way around the fenders.

SL65 AMG Black Series Spotted In Monterey

August 15th, 2008

Mercedes SL65 AMG Black SeriesNot many have been able to view the new Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series up close and personal without any camouflage or covering. We all have been able to see certain press release photos - but let’s admit it those aren’t the same.

However, there were a collect few this week in Monterey that were given the ability to view the SL65 up close and see it in all its splendor. The best part is they were allowed to take as many photos of it as they can to share with all of us.

Spy Shots Of New McLaren Roadster?

August 12th, 2008

McLaren 722 RoadsterNew spy shots have hit the internet displaying what looks to be a 722 Roadster from McLaren. The car was not camouflaged and has similarities to the 722 edition coupe. It was equipped with the dark grey 19” forged alloys that hide red brake calipers, a carbon fiber lip spoiler, and taillight clusters that have been darkened.

The convertible can be expected to carry the same 650-hp supercharged V8 as the 722 coupe, only with the nifty hard-soft top from the roadster. By the state of readiness evident from these spy shots, we’d venture that the 722 Roadster will appear before the Speedster.

Inside Details On New Project Alligator Concept

August 7th, 2008

Mercedes And Aston MartinWe have heard some unusual concept names - but we have to admit that this new one is very different - Project Alligator. This is the code name for the new supercar that is being worked on by both Mercedes and Aston Martin.

CAR’s September issue gets into all the details, which includes such things as the possible use of AMG’s 6.2-liter V8 in the next Vantage, porting over Mercedes’ future eight-speed auto ‘box into Astons, sharing platforms between both automaker’s high-end models (think SL and beyond), cooperating on the development of diesels and hybrids, and using Aston’s future products to keep Maybach alive and maybe even help the wayward ultra-luxury brand thrive with up to five new models. But it gets even bigger.

Gullwing SLC Will Not Wear Mercedes Badge

August 7th, 2008

Mercedes Gullwing SLCMercedes tuning has been working on the new Gullwing SLC supercar for quite some time now - but rumor has it that it while it might look like a Mercedes it will not be sporting the Mercedes badge. Apparently Mercedes will be giving it the AMG badge instead.

Reports also indicate that with dimensions of 4650mm long, 2700mm wheelbase, 1950mm wide, and 1250mm high, the SLC will be similar in proportions to a Ferrari F430. Project C197, as the Gullwing SLC is internally known, is expected to make its debut at the 2010 Geneva show, with a cloth-roofed convertible R197 version to follow a year later.
