Bond’s Lotus Espirit Up For Auction

1977 Lotus EspiritYet, another great peice of Hollywood history is about to go up for auction. Only this time it is a Lotus Espirit S1. This particular vehicle was driven by the infamous James Bond(played by Roger Moore) in “The Spy Who Loved Me”. This movie helped to launch the Lotus as a powerful supercar and gave it fame that has lasted for about 30 years.

Kimberly, who joined Lotus in 1969 and was CEO from 1983 to 1991, returns as CEO after the departure of Kim Ogaard-Nielsen and promises to secure the future of Lotus through a comprehensive five-year plan that calls for new models including a replacement for the Esprit.

Lotus announced in New York that Americans now will get the chance spec out their Elises with high performance parts from Lotus Sport. And for those who want the whole hog, a complete vehicle also will be available directly from the factory as the Lotus Sport Elise.
