GM Shows Off Corvette ZR-1 With Previous Models

Last week GM debuted the new ZR1 Corvette at the Milford Proving Grounds. During the celebration they brought out several older versions of the ZR1 to show people how far they had evolved. The first of them was from the early ‘90s.
The original ZR-1 was built from 1990-95 and, as with the new model, its engine was the heart of the car. In the late ’80s when the ZR-1 was conceived, GM owned Lotus. The British sports car specialist designed the LT5 V8 specifically for the ZR-1.
Production Version Corvette ZR1 Shows Off At Nürburgring

This year supercars are proving their worth and standard by scoring the best time around the famous Nürburgring. Each one is trying to beat out the other to have the best time around the lap and to prove to enthusiasts that they are the best supercar.
The first one to bring our attention to this new goal was the Nissan GT-R. This car managed to pull a 7:29 lap time - which was impressive. The stat was further thrust into the spotlight when a Corvette engineer promised that Nissan would not hold the record for long. And it didn’t. On June 27th, the Corvette ZR1 ran the ‘Ring in 7:26.4 to take the crown.
UK Prices Corvette ZR1 At $214,000

When it comes to deciding how much the Corvette ZR1 is in the UK the decision is left up not to GM - but the Kroymans. Kroymans is a Dutch importer and today they released the price for the new supercar.
Are you ready for this? It will cost you 136,000 euros - which is approximately $214,000 in U.S. dollars. This price includes an advanced driving course, shipping, and of course the dreaded taxes on the car.
New Pics Of Corvette Concept For ‘Transformers’ Movie

The next ‘Transformers’ sequel will be using a new Corvette concept and we have just been given a picture of what it will look like. The concept is said to be a confirmed product from the GM Design studios.
The concept has large ducts in back that mimic the openings in front and presumably also hide the car’s taillamps. Four big centrally-mounted exhaust outlets poke through the bodywork as well.
Corvette ZR1 Takes Test Run On Milford Proving Grounds

The Milford Proving Grounds played host to the corvette ZR1 this week. They took the opportunity to test out the new supercar and to see just how well it would work on the track and prove itself worthy.
Jim Mero - the chief engineer - drove the 638 horsepower ZR1. He was the same driver who lapped the Nurburgring in only 7:26,4.The ZR1 is powered by a V-8 6.2 liter intercooler and supercharged engine that shares certain dimensions and some features with the current Z06’s LS7. The “9″ uses a fifth-generation low-profile Eaton supercharger that itself incorporates plenty of new technology.
