August 21st, 2008GM has been gracious enough to reinstate their offer for employee pricing on all of their brand new cars and we say that everyone should take advantage of this deal. Why? Well for one thing you might just be able to get the car of your dreams.
This new discount helps to lower the high price of the Corvette Z06 down to a base price of $62,653. This is close to $10,000 below the normal price. It is rare that these deals include sports cars that have the ability to push out 505 horsepower - but it seems that GM will also be allowing people have this chance. GM Shows Off Corvette ZR-1 With Previous Models
August 19th, 2008
Last week GM debuted the new ZR1 Corvette at the Milford Proving Grounds. During the celebration they brought out several older versions of the ZR1 to show people how far they had evolved. The first of them was from the early ‘90s.
The original ZR-1 was built from 1990-95 and, as with the new model, its engine was the heart of the car. In the late ’80s when the ZR-1 was conceived, GM owned Lotus. The British sports car specialist designed the LT5 V8 specifically for the ZR-1.
Production Version Corvette ZR1 Shows Off At Nürburgring
August 12th, 2008
This year supercars are proving their worth and standard by scoring the best time around the famous Nürburgring. Each one is trying to beat out the other to have the best time around the lap and to prove to enthusiasts that they are the best supercar.
The first one to bring our attention to this new goal was the Nissan GT-R. This car managed to pull a 7:29 lap time - which was impressive. The stat was further thrust into the spotlight when a Corvette engineer promised that Nissan would not hold the record for long. And it didn’t. On June 27th, the Corvette ZR1 ran the ‘Ring in 7:26.4 to take the crown.
UK Prices Corvette ZR1 At $214,000
July 29th, 2008
When it comes to deciding how much the Corvette ZR1 is in the UK the decision is left up not to GM - but the Kroymans. Kroymans is a Dutch importer and today they released the price for the new supercar.
Are you ready for this? It will cost you 136,000 euros - which is approximately $214,000 in U.S. dollars. This price includes an advanced driving course, shipping, and of course the dreaded taxes on the car.
The price is so high due to the high demand and the fact that there are only 70 units available in the UK this year and an additional 150 in subsequent full years. Looks like Ferrari has a new competitor to deal with.
