Imagine an automobile that combines the elegance and first-class quality of a high-end limousine with the powerful suppleness of a sports coupé. Create a vehicle in your mind’s eye which, with an unladen weight of over 2.66 tons and the dimensions of a small transporter, achieves a maximum speed of over 350 km/h.
For 99 years, Fulda has been making car tires. For most of this time, the company has advertised its products with special vehicles. Luxury buses, advertising vehicles with special bodies, high-speed buses for tire tests, a whole series of showtrucks, racing cars and – in the 1930s something quite special – streamlined car from the Maybach company which could conduct tire tests at speeds of over 200 km/h.
Auto Show In L.A.
Having the LA Auto Show pushed forward two months makes it more distinct from Detroit and allows for a greater number of debuts. Thus, the second LA Show of 2006 was better than the first.
Today, a slew of regular production models were released, but all our attention is focused on the intriguing Mazda Nagare Concept. With gills, flowing headlights and a sleek greenhouse, the Nagare might just be the design of the year.
2002 Moray Corvette
The Moray project, which was presented at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, takes shape into the homage of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro wish to pay to the fifty-year era of the Chevrolet Corvette, the supreme symbol of the American sports car.
Realized without hesitation on Corvette mechanics and chassis, the outcome of seeking out a sports car designed as an elegant extreme leaps into the limelight carrying a pure profile, designed as though touched by drifting tides with long and slender front lights, bringing immediately to the mind the Moray, the English term for the eel-type fish, muraema helena, found in Mediterranean waters.
Classic 1993 Isdera Commendatore
One of the most mysterious supercars in this day and age is the Isdera Commendatore 112i. This one-of prototype is such a rare sight, that its photos, outside of the shots from the car’s release during the 1993 Frankfurt Auto Show, are hard to come by. Over the last decade, the situation has been particularly frustrating, but now, we finally have photos from one of the the most striking and advanced supercars from the nineties.
Remodeled 1955 Lincoln
Felice Mario Boano and his coachworks may be little known but the influence that he, his son Gian Paolo and their companies had on the evolution of modern automotive design is vastly out of proportion to their size. In the post-war Italian economy, which was struggling to rebuild from the devastation of World War II, coachbuilders recognized that an alliance with the intact, powerful, and rich American automotive industry was the key to survival. Boano, through a well-placed friend who worked at Ford, arranged to build a futuristic design on a Ford chassis.
