Chrysler ‘Firepower’ Concept
December 19th, 2006
Precision and passion are definite key elements in Chrysler Group vehicles. The Firepower grand tourer concept car, which is making its debut at the 2005 North American International Auto Show, goes past Chrysler brand attributes of elegance and performance with high customer value.
“As designers, we challenged ourselves,” said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President Chrysler Group Design. “How could we best encompass such strong Chrysler models as the Crossfire, which began the brand’s move toward a higher level of performance and elegance, while looking to the most extreme expression of engineering and design such as last year’s prototype, the ME Four-Twelve? Firepower uniquely bridges these two worlds.”
Chrysler ME Four-Twelve:Amazing

The Chrysler ME Four-Twelve idea came about last January after the 2003 Detroit show, when Chrysler chief operating officer Wolfgang Bernhard aspired to dream what Chrysler could do at the ‘04 show to gain the attention taken by the Viper-powered Tomahawk motorcycle that wowed at the2003 show.
Bernhard wanted something “exciting, motivational, and inspirational”—something “completely unexpected from Chrysler,” yet also an “engineering feat.” A mid-engined supercar was what he came up with. Bernhard then called his buddies at AMG to have an engine built—naturally, they welcomed the opportunity—and even contacted Pagani for guidance.
