Audi R8 Newest DTM Safety Car
The Audi R8 is being used this weekend as the official DTM safety car and racing taxi. This is the first time that it has ever been used for this purpose. Quattro GmbH is an owned subsidiary of Audi AG.
They handed over two of their 420 horsepower mid-engine sports cars the DMSB the German Motorsport Association for the “Norisring Speed Weekend”.
Audi R8 Spied At Quattro GmbH
The new spy shots of the Audi R8 lead us to believe that it is soon to be released. The car was spotted at Audi’s Quattro GmbH. Earlier this year it was spotted at the Bridge to Gantry.
In addition to the wider intakes and fewer front grille slats discerned from the last spy shot, these images also betray a more aggressive body kit, a flux capacitor, larger exhaust pipes and two fewer horizontal fins in the rear.
Audi Takes Home Top Manufacturer Title At British Car Security Awards
This year marked the fifth British Insurance Car Security Awards and Audi seemed to triumph over them all alongside Citroen. Audi was given the title of Top Manufacturer, and won the Compact Executive, Open-Top, and Performance Car categories. The cars that made it were the A4, S8, and the TT Roadster.
Audi Takes Home Win At LeMans
The theme for the 2008 24 Hours of LeMans was Audi vs. Peugeot. These two teams are some of the best and were rarely separated by more than a lap and were able to hold the top positions for the whole race. It was in the end that Dindo Capello, Tom Kristensen, and Allan McNish drove their Audi R10 to win the race four minutes in front of the nearest Peugeot.
Audi A5 Cabrio Spotted Without Camouflage
We are excited to see the revealing of the Audi A5 Cabrio during the Paris Motor Show – but as many of us can agree we love to see pictures beforehand to spoil the surprise. Spies caught the A5 cruising down the roads in Switzerland. Maybe because they thought that no one would find them there – but they took off the camouflage leaving nothing to the imagination.
