Will Audi Build Q5 and A4 In U.S.?
Audi is looking to look for manufacturing capabilities when it comes to their Q5 SUV and A4 sedan in the United States. The new Volkswagen factory located in Chattanooga, Tennessee has allegedly been ordered to produce close to 200,000 vehicles a year and that will include these two cars.
Estimated to cost $973.5 million, the 1,359 acre plant is large enough to handle the domestic production for VW, Audi, and even shareholder Porsche although the proud automaker from Stuttgart vehemently denies even considering it.
Audi Determined To Break New ‘Ring Record With R8 V10
Many auto enthusiasts have been attracting a lot of attention when it comes to Nissan’s GT-R and GM’s Corvette ZR1. This is mainly because of the lap times that they have been boasting about on the Nurburgring track. They have displayed some impressive numbers and Audi is hoping to knock both of those numbers off the board.
Next-Generation Audi TT May Receive Mid-Engine Layout
According to rumors the next-generation Audi TT will be getting a re-design and a mid-engine placement. The TT sits on the VW PQ35 platform – which offers a front engine chassis and front or all wheel drive powertrain.
Engineers realize that if they switch to a mid-engine design, like the one found on the amazing Audi R8, balance and handling will improve. Plus, Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system can be tailored with even more rearward torque bias.
Eaton To Produce TVS Engine For Next Audi A6, S4, and RS4
The Eaton Corporation will be producing a 3.0 liter TFSI V6 supercharger from Eaton’s line f Twin Vortices Series for the Audi A6, S4, and RS4. The direct-injection engine will be able to produce 290 horsepower all while returning to an average 24 mpg.
Audi RS4 To Receive Supercharged V6 Engine
Audi revealed its newest S4 sedan that will be equipped with a supercharged V6 3.0 liter engine. According to new reports the S4 will not be the only car to receive the A4-variant. Audi stated that the RS4 will also be equipped with it.
As of now there is no information on the horsepower rating of the RS4 – but it was confirmed by Car Magazine that the power plant use will be identical to the one used in the S4. Even with the fact that all of the competitors to the RS4 are equipped with V8’s they are confident that consumers will overlook this.
