Audi R8 Test Drive Ends Badly
August 20th, 2008
A Dutch man from Woerden in the Netherlands went to the closest Audi dealership to test drive the brand new R8 supercar. He must have been enjoying the ride a little too much because he ran it off the road and into a river!
The driver was reportedly speeding – 80 mph according to police in a 50 zone when he hit a bump, lost control and skidded into a dyke. Although local law enforcement authorities are reportedly investigating the incident, nobody was hurt. The same cannot be said, sadly, for the car, which is reportedly in a repair shop where the dealer’s insurance company will surely declare it a write-off.

August 13th, 2008
The brand new Audi R8 Spider was spotted by spies while it was doing some tests at the Nurburgring track. The rear bodywork is new to the car and has been given a two-piece flat rear deck that replaces the sweeping pillars of the coupe.
This allows for a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder-style folding roof, with small rear fabric buttresses. The buttresses are partially disguised by the fake sloping rear screen. Beneath this, and on the production cars, you’ll find a glass cover showing the engine in all its glory. Expect most R8 Spider owners to tick the options box for the LED engine bay lighting.

Will Audi Build Q5 and A4 In U.S.?
July 29th, 2008
Audi is looking to look for manufacturing capabilities when it comes to their Q5 SUV and A4 sedan in the United States. The new Volkswagen factory located in Chattanooga, Tennessee has allegedly been ordered to produce close to 200,000 vehicles a year and that will include these two cars.
Estimated to cost $973.5 million, the 1,359 acre plant is large enough to handle the domestic production for VW, Audi, and even shareholder Porsche although the proud automaker from Stuttgart vehemently denies even considering it.
