Aston Martin Tests V12 Vantage Prototype On Nurburgring Track

Spy Shot Of Aston Martin V12 VantageThe engineers at Aston Martin were seen testing the limited edition V-12 Vantage prototype on the Nurburgring track. It is scheduled to debut later this year as a 2009 model.

Powering the track oriented model will be a 6.0-liter V-12 making 600 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque. According to Aston Martin, the lightweight Vantage can run to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds and on to 100 mph in 8.5 seconds. Much of the technology used in building the engine, like the unit’s dry-sump lubrication system, was derived from the automaker’s DBRS9 racecars.
