In the case of the V12 Vantage, Aston Martin thought that it would be wise to spread a few loveable pictures around the internet to help give it much needed publicity. This new sports car is known to get 510 horsepower and was debuted earlier this year in at the Geneva Auto Show.

These photos that were released would help to give people the sense of what they could be driving and to go along with all of those great reviews that they have been receiving. One of the ways that they chose to spread the word is through the well known social book marking site – Facebook.

Now friends and colleagues can go online now and find the perfect pictures of the V12 Vantage and become friends with Aston Martin in the hopes of staying up to date with the news and specifications that we are hoping will be released. It even helps with all of us over in the U.S. to dream about what we could have. Unfortunately the Vantage is not scheduled to come over.

But we have had very few details beyond this. Dr. Ulrich Bez revealed the supercar and simply said that the supercar was “more than enough”. Which leads us to believe that it has the power, luxury, and performance that is sought after in every car of its class.

After closer inspection we began to notice one important detail – this was going to be one of the most exclusive and possible most expensive supercar to roll out of Aston Martin’s factory. Under the sleek hood lies a 6.0 liter V12 block engine with a displacement that has given it a boost to 7.3 liters. This enables it to push it to 750 horsepower and allows it to rev from 0 to 60 mph in less then 3 seconds. We don’t even know just how much the top speed could be.

Unfortunately the interior is still a mystery to us – but we were told to receive more information within the coming weeks. The first model is set to be delivered to the first buyer in 2009. This will be one of only 77 models being produced.

The automaker said that there are certain legal problems in the type of engine being used and their crash protection for the car. This is a big letdown to those of us who have been excited to take the Vantage out on the road. What with its powerful engine placed into a small British car. Who wouldn’t want to test that kind of power?

The V12 Vantage is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine that comes from the DBS model. A small car like this usually packs a V8 engine – but this is nothing compared to the V12 in terms of power. “This is the ultimate performance interpretation of the Vantage range, combining our most agile model with our most powerful engine,” says Uli Bez, Aston’s CEO.

The powerful engine is able to push out 510 horsepower – which places it alongside the Ferrari F430 Scuderia. It is also able to rev from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph.

Along with its power the V12 Vantage was built for everyday use making it more practical for people. “This is the definitive driving package, with spectacular performance and dynamically thrilling but an everyday usable driving experience,” Bez adds.

If sources are correct the automaker has made plans to reveal new variants of the DB9 and Vantage during the Geneva Motor Show. One of the variants will be a convertible model version of the DBS. This is a smart move on Aston Martin’s part and hopefully it will come just in time for summer.

Next up on the agenda is the production V2 Vantage RS. This model is supposed to be built with a V12 engine from the V8 Vantage that can push out 600 horsepower. It may even be built with spoilers, louvers, and carbon fiber. We hope to have more details and some pictures when they arrive at the Geneva Auto Show.

They announced their newest project this week – which is named the ST1. Sources tell us that it is equipped with a turbocharged mid-mounted and supercharged 7.0 liter V8 engine that has the ability to push out 1,104 horsepower. All of this power is pushed through a six-speed manual gearbox. We have to admit that this sounds incredible and a too god to be true.

But this is not something that has happened overnight. The company began this project in 2004 with plans to deliver the first of them in 2009. The first performance tests were finished in October. The rear wheel drive ST1 will reach 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds. At least that is what people are telling us. It can reach 120 mph in under nine seconds. With that being said it is no surprise to us that the top speed is 233 mph.

Not only does this supercar have power – but it also looks awesome. For now only 15 models are schedules to go into production. Which means that it won’t be easy to spot one on the road.

The Rapide four-door is still in the works right now and the V12 Vantage is in the middle of its testing stages. Naturally we are excited to get a chance to see each one of them up close and in action. But until that time comes Aston Martin is appeasing us with the revealing of a convertible variant to the current DBS model.

Now that we know what to look for we have to know what the name for it is – but that part has yet to be decided. It is customary for Aston Martin to give the Volante name to any convertible four-seaters that they produce. But this new car is a bit of a combination of several different models.

Aston Martin is not usually one to do this – but they seem to be thinking about bringing this strategy to life for 2011 to 2019. During this time we are hoping to see the release of the successor to the Vantage, the Rapide, the DB9, and the Lagonda brand.

The DB9 and Vantage are the two biggest sellers for Aston Martin – but because of the uncertainty of the economy they are not sure if this will hold up in the coming years. They have the option to increase the price of the Vantage from $113,000 to $171,000 and move the DB9 price close to $265,000. They think that if they sell fewer of them they will make more money in the long run.

When it comes to the DB9 many will be happy with the price because it will still be cheaper then a Bentley GT. However, we can only imagine the outrage when it comes to pricing the Vantage. However, they do have another option. They could always replace the two models with a mid-engined sports car.

For now the company is doing ok with the Aston Martin One-77 and is focusing much of their attention on it. Although according to AutoWeek the model is not sold out, “Although Aston has said that it would make a maximum of 77 cars, insiders privately say the market is closer to 25.”

He has been given a free pass to drive an Aston Martin (any model) whenever he wants. This pass means that he can take out their brand new and most expensive cars not only the roads – but beyond. They have given him access to their track.

We think that they gave him this pass in order to boost the appeal of their cars. In the James Bond movies Craig drives an Aston Martin – which usually gets blown up before the end. Perhaps they are hoping he will break down and purchase one for himelf.

But it seems that Craig has no intention of doing more then test drive. “I could drive it faster and more furiously [on the track] than anywhere on the road. I live in London [and] it doesn’t make any sense to drive an Aston Martin there. I’ve nowhere to park it,” he said during an interview.

Aston Martin stated that more then 100 wealthy buyers have put their names down on the list. Obviously a few on that list will be upset because the automaker will only be making enough to fulfill the 77 quota. What surprised us the most was the fact that these buyers have placed a £200,000 deposit before seeing an official uncovered picture of it.

But maybe they don’t need to. After all it is an Aston Martin and perhaps that is all they need. We just hope that they take advantage of each model they have. After all there is a good chance that this supercar will increase in value over time.

Of course all of this totaling happened by accident and before the filming was finished. The first DBS was wrecked in the opening scene. Another one was destroyed when it was driven into Lake Garda in Italy. Most of us would agree that an Aston Martin that has been totaled is completely worthless. However, not everyone agrees with this.

Daniel Craig – mister James Bond himself – stated that the totaled DBS was removed from the lake and then sold off to a collector for the amount of £200,000. This is more then the asking price for a brand new and fully functional model. We wonder where he is keeping it now.
