BMW Turns Focus From Supercars To Hybrids
Monday, August 25th, 2008
When we saw the BMW M1 Hommage concept we immediately began to ask when we were going to get a chance to see the production version. However, we might not get a chance to see it - at least not for a very long time.
A board member from BMW stated that they have no plans to produce a supercar that will be able to compete with the new Audi R8. They have decided to focus all of their attention and resources on green technologies.
While Audi continues to produce more powerful and more desirable versions of the R8, Mercedes prepares entirely new supercars and Porsche continues to do what Porsche has always done, the company that once hailed itself as the producers of the “Ultimate Driving Machine” is more concerned with hybrids than sportscars.
