Since 2002 BMW has backed out of the American Le Mans due to the restrictions that were put in place by ALMS. They felt at the time that it was not worth their time, energy, and money to produce a brand new car that will meet their requirements. Six years later they have returned and are ready to prove themselves victorious once more.
BMW has introduced the E92 M3 and is free to race is with a V8 unrestricted and announced their racing program in cooperation with Rahal Letterman Racing, as well as unveiling a new racecar at the Chicago Auto Show this year. It’s design is aggressively beautiful, and we can’t wait to see it compete against Porsche and Ferrari next year in GT2.
