Audi R8 Newest DTM Safety Car

The Audi R8 is being used this weekend as the official DTM safety car and racing taxi. This is the first time that it has ever been used for this purpose. Quattro GmbH is an owned subsidiary of Audi AG.
They handed over two of their 420 horsepower mid-engine sports cars the DMSB the German Motorsport Association for the “Norisring Speed Weekend”.
The two Audi R8 cars were prepared specifically for use as safety cars by quattro GmbH at the Neckarsulm plant. “There were not many modifications required, though, because the R8 possesses the genes of a perfect sports car,” says Werner Frowein, managing director of quattro GmbH.
