Alfa released details for their new Mito hatchback and also confirmed this week that they would also be releasing a brand new GTA model after the release of the Mito in January 2009. The new Mito GTA will be equipped with a turbocharged 1750cc petrol engine that will produce 230bhp. CEO of Alfa Romeo stated that it will be the fastest car in its class and will be â€œcapable of matching the Alfa 8C supercar between 80km/h and 120km/h.â€
The Â£14,775, 155bhp Mito 1.4TB Veloce – which tops the range of three 1.4-litre petrol engines that will be available from launch. Others will include a detuned, 120bhp, turbocharged version for Â£12,175, and a non-turbocharged 95bhp 1.4 unit that will power the entry-level Mito with a starting price of Â£10,975. There will also be two diesel units: a 90bhp, 1.3-litre JTDm, which will cost Â£12,175, and a 120bhp, 1.6-litre JTDm with a list price of Â£13,975.
