Alfa Romeo Brera S Hits Dealerships

Alfa Romeo Brera SThe Alfa Romeo Brera S produced by Prodrive was a car that many of us were looking forward to and now we are able to get that chance. The car has hit the dealerships and with only 500 of them produced we can only imagine how quickly they will begin to sell.

Changes Made: The 185bhp, 2.2 JTS and the 260bhp 3.2 V6 JTS engines are unchanged, but there are myriad changes to suspension and steering aimed at making the Brera less of a long-distance tourer and more responsive on UK roads while maintaining the original’s composed ride.

The S also sits 10mm lower than standard. The light-alloy wheels reduce unsprung weight for more zesty performance as well as improved steering –interestingly, the standard all-wheel drive of the V6 was abandoned, meaning that its overall weight is 100kg less than standard. The exhaust systems of both models have been tweaked for a sportier note without an increase in noise.

The V6′s seats and dashboard are upholstered in soft black Frau leather with red stitching, as are door panels, steering wheel and gearlever. The centre console and instruments are faced in a dark finish. This interior can also be specified on the 2.2 JTS version. 0-62mph takes 8.6sec for the 2.2 and 7.0sec for the 3.2.
