Alfa Romeo 149 Pictures Released

We were excited and pleased with the Alfa Romeo MiTo – but I think that has been trumped by the new 149. Auto Express released a couple pictures of the new hatch to the online community and we were more then eager to get our hands on them.
The 149 will be replacing the 147 – which is made obvious when you compare the two designs together. However, it also has a few characteristics that were taken from the MiTo as well as the 8C Competizione. It is a three or five door that is appealing in its looks as well as its performance.
The performance is enhanced thanks to its gasoline and diesel power plants which are variously turbocharged. When speaking from the low end the 149 can push out 120 horsepower – but it can go as high as 250. Those interested in the hotrod version will be pleased with the trick differential Q2 – which will help to get the power to the ground.
The car is scheduled to be released in 2009 and it will be following the new U.S. safety regulations. This means that we will get our chance at it and the automaker will most likely have great sales for it.
